"Truism"

Absolutely everything around us — life situations, relationships, and more — is something we ourselves fill with meaning and emotion. We see combinations of colors, yet each of us interprets them differently. What unites us is that the origins of these color associations lie deep in generational memory, passed down from our ancestors.

For Appolinaria, color is a powerful instrument — one she uses purposefully in her creative process. But it’s also an object of endless exploration, where new meanings continually emerge. She studies the emotional impact of color on the human psyche, recognizing its ability to express a vast spectrum of feelings and sensations.

Appolinaria invites the viewer to build their own personal relationship with color — to join her in exploring the spiritual qualities of white, the philosophical depths of blue, and their countless combinations, each conveying its own narrative.

The simplicity of white is always disarming, yet its layered structure often goes unnoticed. Is it truly as pure as it appears at first glance? After all, white contains within itself the entire color spectrum, gathered as one.

“Truism” — a term for a banal, overused phrase — raises the question: is banality really so simple?
